Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver

Day 2 - Vancouver - Strait of Georgia - Victoria (2 nights)
Our tour of Vancouver takes us to Stanley Park where we view thetotem poles and learn of their significance to the aboriginalcommunity, English Bay, Chinatown - the second largest Chinesedistrict after San Francisco''s, and historic Gastown with itscharming cobblestone streets, courtyards and mews. We then board aferry and cross the Strait of Georgia, cruising through thebeautiful Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island. We journey on by coachto the quaint city of Victoria, a little bit of England on thePacific coast. Here, an orientation tour introduces us to BastionSquare, the Inner Harbour and the Parliament Buildings. Later,perhaps explore the city further with an optional horse-drawncarriage ride. Day 3 - Victoria sightseeing & at leisure
We start the day with breakfast served in the flower-laddenconservatory at the famous Butchart Gardens. A representative fromButchart Gardens will give us a brief talk on the history of theButchart Family and the gardens'' exhibits. Later, there is time toexplore this 55-acre showcase of extraordinary floral displays.Back in Victoria, the rest of the day is at leisure. Stroll throughthe flower-filled streets and browse the stores for some earlysouvernir shopping, or perhaps partake in one of our popularoptional activities including a whale watching excursion and anevening walking tour of Chinatown, complete with Chinese banquet.(Full breakfast)

Day 4 - Victoria - Sea to Sky Highway - Whistler
We travel north to Chemainus, a seaside town known for itsbeautiful murals. We then journey across the Strait of Georgia,back to the mainland and along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway. Aftera stop at the 1,105-feet Shannon Falls, we continue the climb overthe Coast Mountains to arrive at Whistler, where we are taken on aguided walking tour of this quaint alpine village and learn aboutthis 2010 Olympic venue. Day 5 - Whistler - Cache Creek - Kamloops
This morning we travel across the fertile Pemberton Valley andalong the scenic Duffy Lake Road, often referred to as "one of thebest drives in Canada." We stop at Historic Hat Creek Ranch, wherewe visit the historic buildings and learn about this early tradingpost. We also visit a native village and learn about the ShuswapNation''s fascinating history and culture before continuing onthrough the high desert of interior British Columbia, renowned forits natural resources, including agriculture and timber. We thenarrive in Kamloops, or "Meeting of the Waters" in Shuswap languageas it is here that the two branches of the Thompson River join.This evening we enjoy a Highlight Dinner at a local restaurant.(Full breakfast / Highlight dinner)Hotel: The Thompson Hotel

Day 6 - Kamloops - Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks - Banff (2 nights)
Today we head for the great Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, a UNESCOWorld Heritage area. We first visit Mount Revelstoke National Park,where we travel from dense old-growth rainforest of giant cedar andpine, to sub-alpine forest leading to alpine meadows and tundrawith spectacular views of the ice-clad peaks of the MonasheeMountains. At Giant Cedars, weather permitting, we''ll enjoy a walkthrough a stand of 1000-year old cedars. Next, we enter GlacierNational Park and climb over Rogers Pass. After crossing theColumbia River, we enter the Rocky Mountain trench. Our nextnational park is Yoho, where we view the Natural Bridge spanningthe Kicking Horse River and the famous Spiral Tunnels, constructedso that freight trains - typically up to a mile long - can safelyclimb the narrow valley. Crossing the Continental Divide, we enterBanff National Park, Canada''s oldest national park, and arrive atthe quintessential alpine resort of Banff. (Full breakfast /Dinner)Hotel: Banff Park Lodge

Day 7 - Banff sightseeing & at leisure
Our tour of Banff features the classic viewpoint of Surprise Corneralong Tunnel Mountain Drive, Bow Falls and the wind-shaped rockformations known as hoodoos. We then board the Banff Gondola for aride to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a bird''s eye viewof six mountain ranges from the upper terminal. The rest of the dayis yours to do as you please; explore the shops along Banff Avenue,or join one of the many optional activities, including a scenichelicopter flight over Mount Assiniboine, a river float trip downthe Bow River, or a guided nature walk. Later, why not partake in afun and entertaining celebration of Canada at an awardwinningdinner show? (Full breakfast)

Day 8 - Banff - Calgary (2 nights)
Put on your cowboy boots and Stetson hats as we travel to Calgaryto experience the city''s unique Western atmosphere during theworld-famous Stampede. Billed as "The Greatest Outdoor Show onEarth," the Calgary Stampede is the world''s largest outdoorexperience of its kind and an exciting spectacle of classic rodeoevents, chuckwagon races, agriculture and livestock exhibits,grandstand shows and concerts. This evening, we get our adrenalinepumping at the Stampede''s amazing Chuckwagon Races, the world''spremier chuckwagon event. We''ll experience all the heart-stoppingaction as 36 drivers, 228 horses, and their teams of outriders viefor over $1.15 million in prize money! We end the day with a bangat this evening''s Grandstand Show, an entertainment extravaganza ofcountry singers and comedians, capped off by a spectacularfireworks display. Day 9 - Calgary Stampede
We spend the entire day at the Calgary Stampede and enjoy the day''sevents. Our all-day pass includes reserved seating at the rodeoevents and admission to Stampede Park, home to agriculturalexhibits, live concerts and an amusement park. (Full breakfast)

Day 10 - Calgary - Lake Louise - Icefields Parkway - Jasper (2nights)
Our first stop is at beautiful Lake Louise where we are taken on aninterpretive walk along the lakeshore. We learn about the historyand geography of the area and soak in the stunning landscapecombining azure glacial waters, deep green forests, jaggedsnow-covered mountains and the mighty Victoria Glacier. We thenhead north along the stunning Icefields Parkway, driving beneathsnowcapped peaks, thundering waterfalls and glistening glaciers.Keep an eye out for wildlife including elk, black bear and mountaingoat. We continue onto the Columbia Icefield where we board an IceExplorer for a unique journey onto the massive Athabasca Glacier.We then head for Jasper in the heart of Jasper National Park. Day 11 - Jasper National Park sightseeing & at leisure
This morning we enjoy an interpretive walk at Maligne Canyon, oneof the most beautiful gorges in the Rockies. We learn about theunderground river system - one of the longest in Canada - whilestrolling along the canyon''s trail, past beautiful waterfalls andspectacular rock formations. The rest of the day is at leisure inJasper to enjoy the superb vistas, stroll the quaint streets, orjoin one of the optional activities which include a lake cruise onbeautiful Maligne Lake, a gentle float trip down the AthabascaRiver, a guided alpine excursion to Mount Edith Cavell, and anevening of wildlife spotting followed by a relaxing soak in naturalhot springs. Day 12 - Jasper - Mount Robson - Lac Le Jeune
Today our Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure. We head westover Yellowhead Pass and arrive at Mount Robson, the Rockies''tallest peak at 12,989 ft. We then follow the Thompson River as itwinds its way down through the Columbia Mountains to arrive at ourresort, beautifully located on the shores of Lac Le Jeune. Here wejoin a local expert on a nature walk to the beaver dam at the endof the lake, and learn about the resident beaver colony. Day 13 - Lac Le Jeune - Depart Vancouver
