Discover Fairbanks, rich in history surrounding the Alaska GoldRush and Trans-Alaska Pipeline eras. Sail along the Chena andTanana Rivers on the Riverboat Discovery. Along the way, you''llvisit a recreated Athabascan village where native Alaskans willexplain the importance of wildlife to their culture. Next, visitchampion dogs at the kennel of the late Iditarod champion SusanButcher and hear tales from a senior handler about life on thetrail. Day 3 - Fairbanks - Denali National Park (2 nights)
Head south through the northern boreal forests of the Tanana RiverValley, an area made famous by the Gold Rush. The valley nowprovides a spectacular panorama of birch, aspen and willow trees ina tapestry of changing colors throughout the season. Along today''sjourney, your Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure. Day 4 - Denali National Park excursion & at leisure
Relax in the grandeur of North America''s last wilderness. Maybetake an optional rafting trip on the Nenana River or a guided hikethrough this awesome landscape. This afternoon, venture into theheart of Denali on a guided Tundra Wilderness excursion. Travelinginto the heart of the pristine wilderness, keep an eye out formoose, bear, Dall sheep, caribou and other wildlife in theirnatural habitat while listening to the onboard naturalist''scommentary on the history and geography of Denali. Day 5 - Denali - Alaska Railroad - Anchorage (2 nights)
Time at leisure to bask in the beauty of Denali National Park untilit is time to board the famous Alaska Railroad for the scenicjourney to Anchorage. Relax in comfortable reclining seats withlarge picture windows offering prime views. Listen to the expertcommentary of the staff while admiring the robust beauty outside.Relax in the vista dome car and enjoy a variety of dining options.Travel through Broad Pass, which at 2,363 feet is the highest pointon the railroad and where caribou migrate through each fall. Day 7 - Anchorage - Kenai Fjords National Park - Seward

Day 8 - Scenic Cruising - College Fjord
Some of the best glacier viewing in the state are tucked into thenorthwest corner of Prince William Sound at College Fjord. Windingdown from mountains and through valleys and fjords, these massiverivers of ice are often moving, periodically dropping their bountyinto the sea. This fjord boasts the largest collection of tidewaterglaciers in the world. There are 16 glaciers named after Ivy Leaguecolleges. This is the only place in Alaska where you''ll besurrounded on three sides with flowing rivers of ice. Day 9 - Scenic Crusing - Glacier Bay National Park
In the watery wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park, behold alandscape at its moment of creation. Your ship gives you theopportunity to witness the life of virgin land from Sitka-spruceforests alive with grizzlies and wolves, to the algae, lichens andmosses that were the beginnings of life in the region. The shrillnoises of modern life are replaced with the thunderous boom ofbuilding-size icebergs calving into the sea from vast ice rivers.It is raw, primeval and unforgettable. Day 10 - Haines
Cradled at the base of the Chilkat Peninsula, the picturesque townof Haines is located on America''s longest fjord and boasts thelargest annual gathering of American bald eagles. Local highlightsinclude the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, where upward of 4,000 baldeagles gather to gorge on spawning salmon; the American EagleFoundation, which educates the public about America''s national birdthrough a variety of interesting and informational exhibits; andFort William H. Day 11 - Juneau
Juneau is a place to let your imagination run wild. We will accommodate you with a fellow passenger of the same gender on a ‘two-bedded’ basis (non-smoking rooms only). Please note that, regrettably, we cannot guarantee that room mates will be of a similar age group.
